Boost Your Local Authority with Google

1. Google My Business Profile

Google My Business (formerly known as Google Local and Google Places) is the platform that powers Google's business listings and that gives your business the opportunity to show up in search engine results.

If not, just start the process and get it done!

1.  You need a Google Account

2.  Go to this link to start the process:

  • Enter Your Business Name (Start with your name then company)
  • Select a business category by typing in a few words and choosing an existing category. You must choose from one of the categories – you can’t create your own.
  • Select your service area
  • Enter all your business info, physical address

3.  Verification Process – You will have to verify your business location generally by Mail. Google will send you a postcard to the business address within 1-2 weeks. Enter the Pin Code found on that postcard in your business listing to complete the verification process.

Most local businesses verify by mail. However, some businesses, like service area businesses, have other options like verification by email, phone, or Search Console.

  • Already have reviews on Zillow, Facebook, or other places? Copy and paste the review and send it to the client and ask them to post it on Google for you
